The "Underrated" Third Gen Boy Group Maknae That's Getting Well-Deserved Attention

Given the popularity of idol groups in the K-Pop industry — that is, groups of idols who usually focus on singing/rapping and dancing during performances over other skills such as playing instruments — it can be somewhat risky for a Korean entertainment label to debut a band to compete in the same market. In general, Korean bands just don’t tend to get the same amount of attention (or promotions) that K-Pop groups do, and therefore, even some of the most talented bands often don’t reach the same level of stardom.

One of the few Korean bands that has managed to break through into greater success is DAY6. While they still don’t have the same sales or music video views as fellow JYP Entertainment artists like TWICE and Stray Kids, they’ve certainly made a name for themselves, especially in recent times with several of their songs ranking high on Korean music charts even years after they were released.

But many of their streams probably come from listeners in the general public who haven’t gotten to know the members personally. That’s why, when one of the members does get individual recognition for one reason or another online, DAY6’s fans are quick to try and get them as much attention as possible!

And that’s the case for the group’s maknae, Dowoon, currently.

On a popular online Korean forum, Dowoon has gone somewhat viral as people are discovering his handsome visuals, which has led them to learning about his talent as a musician as well.

As the drummer of DAY6, Dowoon plays a pivotal role in the group’s music, and their songs simply wouldn’t be the same without him.

The fact that he’s so handsome and so talented seems to be a driving force behind why this post about Dowoon has taken off, and he definitely deserves the recognition.

Seeing him in action is even more fun, and fancams of him playing the drums are just as entertaining as watching fancams of idol group members dancing!

It’s easy to see why DAY6 fans have a soft spot for the 28-year-old maknae, and we’re glad to see the group reaching new levels of success in their musical career since the members have all completed their military enlistment.
