USA President Donald Trump Slams the Oscars For Giving “Parasite” Best Picture… Because It’s A Korean Movie
Parasite made history earlier in the month by becoming the first ever foreign language film to win Best Picture at the Academy Awards. The film received 4 Oscar awards, also winning Best International Feature Film, Best Directing, and Best Original Screenplay. While much of the world praised the movie and its director, Bong Joon Ho, calling it the best movie of 2019, and even the decade of 2010’s, one famous figure didn’t seem to agree.
During his rally in Colorado Springs, Colorado on his journey to re-election for the 2020 presidential election, current United States President Donald Trump took the time to mention how Parasite won, starting off by calling the Academy Awards “bad”.

By the way, how bad were the Academy Awards this year, did you see? And the winner is, a movie from South Korea, what the hell was that all about? We got enough problems with South Korea with trade, on top of it, they give them the best movie of the year? Was it good? I don’t know.
You know, I’m looking for like, lets get like Gone With the Wind, can we get like Gone With the Wind back, please? Sunset Boulevard, so many great movies, the winner is, from South Korea. I thought it was best, foreign, film yeah? Best foreign movie. No, it was the b- did this ever happen before?
— Donald Trump
Donald Trump’s mention of Gone With the Wind is significant as the movie was set in the American Civil War, with the main character owning a cotton plantation and many slaves. Donald Trump continued to bash on another aspect of the Oscars, including expressing his profound dislike for Brad Pitt, calling him a “wiseguy”. Brad Pitt criticized the Senate during his awards speech, dropping in a reference to Donald Trump’s impeachment trial.
In response to Donald Trump’s comments, people have left comments denouncing Donald Trump’s blatant racism.
.@realDonaldTrump doesn’t even pretend to hide his racism.

Wait until he finds out how many Mexican directors have received the Best Director Oscar.

1917 is also a foreign film. He wouldn’t have a problem with a British film winning.

If it were from North Korea he would be talking about how "beautiful" and "strong" a movie it was

He really wonders why he isn’t appealing to more black voters 🤔
