Usher’s new album, Coming Home, was also released today, February 9. So, he guested on iHeartRadio, promoting it. The last song from the album is actually the Usher remix of BTS Jungkook‘s “Standing Next to You.”

When he introduced “Standing Next to You” on the radio, Usher explained why he wanted to feature on a remix of the song. He recognized what a magical song it was when it was first released, but there was more to it.

‘Standing Next to You’ was obviously a smash when Jungkook put it out. I just wanted to participate in the magic.

Usher recognized that many of his fans are also K-Pop fans. So, he wanted to also do something special for them.

I’m now recognizing I have K-Pop fans. So, I guess I gotta do more in that area, yeah?

Not only that, but “Standing Next to You” reminded him of working with the “King of Pop” himself Michael Jackson. Fans even noticed that Usher did the same dance move with Jungkook that he had done with Michael.

I love this song because it made me feel like early Michael [Jackson]. Something about it made me think about those days, made me think about ‘Rock With You…’
