“Peak Time” Success: VANNER Shows Incredible Skyrocketing Album Sales After Survival Show Win

“We need more shows like Peak Time instead of these sh*tty survival shows focused on evil editing.”

These days, it seems like there are more survival shows than ever in the K-Pop world, with some coming under more scrutiny than others for their inclusion of extremely young contestants or the use of “evil editing” to make some contestants look bad. Not every person that ends up as a finalist or winner on the show ends up becoming more successful afterwards, either, making the usefulness of these survival programs sometimes questionable.

However, it seems that the winners of recent survival program Peak Time, which aired from February to April this year, have already been seeing massive benefits from their time on the show!

There were 23 contestants on Peak Time in the form of lesser-known or “nugu” K-Pop boy groups, including names such as DKBKINGDOMBAE173Blitzers, and ATBO, to name just a few. This show provided them a chance to grow their audience by showing their skills through various challenges and performances, with the final top six teams earning the privilege of having their names disclosed while performing on the show and being able to hold a concert.

The winning team was promised to receive a monetary prize of ₩300 million (~$226,000 USD), an album release, and a global showcase.

After an intense and impressive series of performances, VANNER ended up taking home the first prize. Consisting of five members — Taehwan, Gon, Hyesung, Sungkook, and Yeonggwang — the boy group debuted on February 14, 2019 under VT Entertainment and had, up until their time on Peak Time, seen very little reward for their hard work.

They had released a full-length album and three single albums at that time, with their best-selling one barely surpassing 1.1k sales. If they hadn’t appeared on Peak Time, it’s likely they would have disbanded before too long due to lack of funding.

Thankfully, however, winning the survival show has made all the difference for the talented K-Pop group! They released their first EP, VENI VIDI VICI, on August 21 with the title track “Performer”, and though it has only been a couple of days since then, their sales have absolutely skyrocketed compared to before.

At this time, VENI VIDI VICI has made over 80k sales, and that number will only continue to go up in the coming days!

Their success after winning Peak Time has become a topic of conversation on an online forum, where the comments section is full of nothing but praise, happiness, and support from fans and netizens alike.

Congratulations to VANNER on this well-deserved increase in their sales and popularity! We’re eager to see how their career moves forward from here.
