Fans Are Fearful About VCHA’s Future Following Performance Cancellation
Fans are worried about VCHA‘s future activities.
In 2023, JYP Entertainment and Republic Records‘s collaborative audition program A2K (America 2 Korea) aired. The show aimed to debut an American girl group trained under the K-Pop system, ultimately producing the diverse girl group VCHA.
Following pre-debut activities, VCHA debuted in January 2024 with the single “Girls of the Year,” which currently sits at 8.8 million views on YouTube.
Shortly after the release of their second single in March, VCHA was announced to perform at 2024 Lollapalooza Chicago, which excited many fans. However, on July 19, it was announced that VCHA would no longer attend the festival.

As of writing, neither JYP nor Republic Records have issued a statement about the cancelled performance, adding to the list of grievances fans have.
In March 2024, it was announced that Kaylee would go on a health related hiatus, with the promise of updates on her status. Since then, there has not been any updates on Kaylee’s condition.
[Information about Kaylee's Further Partcipation in VCHA Activity]
Hello, this is JYPE.
We would like to inform you about VCHA member Kaylee’s participation in upcoming VCHA’s activities.
Due to a health condition, Kaylee will be taking a hiatus from upcoming VCHA activities…

The lack of updates could also be attributed to the inactivity of the group’s social media accounts. The group’s most recent YouTube video was uploaded in April, and the official X and TikTok accounts have not been updated in over a month.
@vcha
This sort of inactivity would be strange for even more established groups, making it all the more confusing for fans that a group less than 7 months old has been so silent. Fans have demanded updates from JYP, especially considering the company plans to debut a Latin girl group in the near future.
-Lollapalooza canceled with no explanation.
– Lack of updates on all the girls for over a month.
– Zero updates on Kaylee in 4 months despite promising to keep fans updated.TREAT VCHA BETTER#TREAT_VCHA_BETTER #PROMOTE_VCHA #DontForgetAboutVcha@jypnation @RepublicRecords pic.twitter.com/uHFgcJlW1s

VLIGHTS are worried and deserve some info!
The silence on Kaylee’s hiatus and VCHA’s future is frustrating. An update on their health and upcoming activities would be consoling for fans. 🙏#TREAT_VCHA_BETTER #PROMOTE_VCHA@jypnation @RepublicRecords pic.twitter.com/l1jgl7cKFe

Jype has absoutely doomed @Official_VCHA at every turn. What other jype group has had a member go on hiatus, gone inactive across all social media for months and then cancel what would’ve been their biggest break? Shame on @jypnation https://t.co/oCuBJlPgnp
