Veteran Singer Calls Out “Twenty Five, Twenty One” Production Team
Singer Kim Yoonah from the band Jaurim recently put the production team of the tvN K-Drama Twenty Five, Twenty One, on blast for their rude behavior.
Kim recently appeared on the YouTube show Don’t Forget Your Breakfast 2, hosted by Jang Sung Kyu. During the interview, the host asked her about the connection between the K-Drama’s name and her hit song by the same title. “You have many hit songs. ‘Twenty Five Twenty One’ became a drama. How’d that all come about?” Jang asked.
In response, Kim Yoonah asked him back if he brought up the topic knowing the story behind it. The singer revealed that she was never made aware in advance that Twenty Five Twenty One was being made into a drama.
It would have been nice if they asked beforehand. But they held the production presentation, then they emailed me, apologizing for not asking in advance.

She said that the matter was already water under the bridge when the production team reached out to her. She liked actress Kim Tae Ri, so the production was greenlit. The singer, however, admitted that the show’s producers paid her a bit more than the standard rate for using her songs in K-dramas.
The revelation has sparked intense reactions from netizens who are either upset over the “lack of manners” from the show’s production or feel that people should move on from the incident since Kim Yoonah herself seems to have.
Meanwhile, “Twenty-Five, Twenty-One” is one of the biggest hit of Jaurim from the 2010s. The song was featured in the 2022 K-Drama by the same name, starring Nam Joo Hyuk and Kim Tae Ri.
