In March 2024, Park was revealed to be one of the victims who was duped out of ₩1.10 billion KRW (about $763,000 USD) by Kim, who swore on her two K-Pop idol sons, Keeho and 82MAJOR member Yoon Yechan, that she would return it in full after four months.

After Kim failing to keep her word, Park sued her for fraud and has been sharing updates about the lawsuit through his Instagram stories. Many of these updates contained condemnation for Keeho as well.

Recently, his agency, FNC Entertainment confirmed that Keeho was completely uninvolved with this case. Nevertheless, the idol had previously apologized to his fans for the chaotic situation when the controversy first broke.

On the same day as FNC Entertainment’s statement was released, Park also took to his Instagram to issue a formal apology to Keeho where he agreed to stop mentioning his name in association with the ongoing lawsuit.

Dear Keeho,

I heard from my lawyer about what you conveyed through your lawyer a few days ago, and it seems I reacted too emotionally without taking the time to think it through. Upon reflection, I have realized that even though you couldn’t possibly know much about the situation, you sincerely apologized and expressed your intent to find a solution for the damage, which I misunderstood. I now feel deeply sorry for how I reacted. The truth is, even though you’re not involved in this matter, I was only thinking of my own position. Once again, I’m sorry that you had to apologize to me and put in effort to resolve this issue despite not having anything to do with it. And I’m also thankful for it.

— Park Sang Hyun

Park accepted his fault and also expressed his support for Keeho as an idol, wishing him and Yechan a successful career.

The essence of this problem is not with you, but with the adults involved. I now realize that, in my frustration, I kept mentioning your name. As a father myself, I understand that nothing could be more heartbreaking and unfair than seeing your child suffer because of something related to your own issues, and in my frustration, I think I used your name more than I should have. Moving forward, there will be no more mention of your name regarding this matter, and I hope you won’t have to suffer any harm because of it.

I’ve supported you sincerely since you were young and since your debut, and I want to continue supporting both you and Yechan in your wonderful activities.

— Park Sang Hyun
