A Guy Thought He Was Talking To BTS’s Suga On Omegle, So He Tried To Befriend Him
Since the beginning of the internet, people have been catfished. And even when websites that allowed for video chatting like Omegle were introduced, it didn’t stop there either. But have you ever been catfished by a K-Pop stan or perhaps vise versa?
A YouTuber, Dopey Brad, recently went on Omegle, but as BTS‘s Suga…
They simply replaced their camera with some video from one of Suga’s live broadcasts and had it play. You’d think that people might skip it, not recognizing Suga, or someone might immediately recognize him and do one of two things: either fangirl or even recognize that exact video and skip it.
Well, none of those happened to him. While he used Omegle as Suga, a guy came on and actually recognized the idol.
Oh my God! What the f*ck?! You’re that… You’re Suga!
— Omegle user
He quickly continued to talk, hoping that he wouldn’t get skipped. He attempted to impress the rapper by telling him that he knows some of his music.
Wait, wait, wait! I know one song of you.
— Omegle user
He surprised us again by singing BTS’s iconic “Spring Day.” He actually knew a lot of the lyrics (and Korean) too!
He asked, “That’s how the song goes, right?” Suga didn’t respond, unfortunately…
Yet, the young man attempted to keep the conversation flowing and appropriately asked the rapper if he listens to rap music.
Do you listen to any rap? Do you listen to Playboi Carti?
— Omegle user
A few minutes had now passed since they first started talking, and he was still in disbelief. How could he be talking to someone so famous through Omegle? Well… We’re not going to tell him.
Oh my God! Geez, you are really Suga.
— Omegle user
He kept trying to make conversation with Suga, but, of course, there was little to no response. During this time, however, the guy couldn’t help but stare back at Suga.
Come on, say something… Your stare… Your stare, it’s crazy. It’s like you’re looking in my soul.
— Omegle user
He tried conversing again, asking Suga if he knew just how popular BTS is in his home country India.
Do you know anything about Indian culture? Do you know that these girls are crazy about you in our country? Yeah, man.
— Omegle user
After a while, Suga felt like a new friend to him. He was able to confide in him, revealing that he admired his sense of style. He even asked for fashion tips!
I wish I had nose like you, skin like you, and hair like you, man. It look so handsome. Godd*mn. I’ve be staring for days… So handsome. Can you give me any tips for fashion and some things like how do I dress myself?
— Omegle user
He even showed him the mathematics book he was reading! You know you’re friends when you can even talk about the boring things of life like school…
Then before the conversation ended between these two new friends, the young man gave Suga some advice of his own. He suggested that Suga become independent from his company, Big Hit Entertainment (now known as HYBE).
I think you should leave the Big Hit company, man. They’re making you work like hell. I just want to… I think you have earned enough to live alone and, you know, live a peaceful life.
— Omegle user
We’re not sure if the young man ever found out that his new friendship was one-sided, but we definitely don’t want to be the one to tell him! The interaction was so wholesome, even if it was technically fake… Either way, Suga definitely has both a new fan and friend!
