Weki Meki’s Final Comeback Before Disbandment Leaves Many Disappointed

“Fantagio really sent them off with a $5 budget music video…”

When Weki Meki‘s label Fantagio announced that the girl group would be making a comeback after over 900 days of being on hiatus, fans were shocked and ecstatic. Their last comeback with “Siesta” was released all the way back in November 2021, and fans had all but given up hope of ever getting new music from the group.

That excitement, however, quickly turned to sadness when it was also revealed that it would be the last comeback Weki Meki would make as a group before disbanding. While this didn’t come as a surprise to those who had already pretty much accepted that the girl group was heading towards disbandment, it was still a sad day, especially after the brief hope that had been created with the comeback announcement.

The group’s last single, “CoinciDestiny”, was released on June 12 with little promotion. The members won’t be promoting the new song on music shows, and since it’s a digital single, “CoinciDestiny” is the only song released for this final comeback.

Additionally, fans couldn’t help but be disappointed in the low-quality music video that accompanied the song. It seems like there was barely any budget set aside for the video, as the members just walk around in a park with seemingly minimal editing.

While there are positive comments regarding the song — which was written and composed by member Suyeon — itself, there has been plenty of disappointment voiced over the low quality of what is to be Weki Meki’s final activity as a group.
