Chaos Breaks Out At Weverse Con Festival, Police And Firefighters Dispatched
Weverse Con Festival reportedly saw a huge mismanagement today, on June 15, at the Discovery Park in Yeongjong-do, Incheon.
According to the attendees, this year’s footfall at the festival was significantly higher than last year. Fans lined up early in the morning to secure a good spot in the park to see the outdoor show.

But chaos ensued after staff at the entrance allegedly failed to manage the queue in an orderly manner. According to various eyewitnesses, some people started ignoring the rules and tried to cut in line, and many foreigners were not able to understand the instructions in Korean. It ended up causing all order to fall, and crowds started to rush toward the entrance.

Some people who were waiting in line also reported having heard shouts and cries from near the entrance, questioning the safety and security of the attendees. Many also complained of inadequate security personnel and staff to manage the lines.
last year’s weverse con was so much more chill even though it was raining everyone was able to get a seat and they even gave inflatable mini chairs. everyone was in line but this time it was a massacre.

The situation eventually got so chaotic that police officers and firefighters had to be dispatched to the venue. Some attendees claimed that while the authorities were talking with the venue staff, the staff were seen arguing with them.

The situation prevented many ticketholders from entering the park on time, which delayed the concert schedule. The whole incident has forced netizens to question the professionalism of the staff and the competence of the organizers.
Meanwhile, June 15 was day 1 of the Weverse Con Festival, with the day 2 concert scheduled on June 16, KST. While the outdoor performances are held at Discovery Park, the indoor performances are taking place at Inspire Arena.
