Weverse Under Fire For Their Lack Of Quality Control For BTS’s “MUSTER” Merchandise
When it comes to BTS, ARMYs are willing to spend hundreds of dollars on merchandise. The group always treats fans to some amazing products. Recently, they released some merchandise from their Muster Sowoozoo event, which fans have been receiving.
Recently, HYBE and the supplier of a lot of BTS’s merchandise, Weverse, have come under fire after a netizen shared receiving their “2021 MUSTER SOWOOZOO” DVD package. When they opened the goods, it seemed to all be in order with a cute pop-out standee of the members.
Yet, when the ARMY turned it over, they found that it had been printed on the back of another fellow boy group VERIVERY‘s merchandise.
When the tweet was shared, some ARMY shared their concerns about the lack of quality control on the items.
While many shared their anger about the fact that BTS’s merchandise was made from recycled material, others also shared their sympathy for the boy group VERIVERY. Netizens found it disrespectful to the group who have always worked hard and given their fans the best, including when it comes to merchandise.
Others explained that they didn’t see the issue with it as the standee would be facing the front, and praised Weverse for trying to be sustainable.
The issue of sustainability in K-Pop is a topic that has recently gained a lot of attention, particularly when it comes to the topic of wasting albums when wanting to collect photocards.
Boy group VICTON gained praise after announcing that they were doing a digital option of their Chronograph album, allowing fans to only receive the photocards.

While the intention might have been to promote sustainability and showcase recycling, netizens believed that it should’ve been done in a better way that wasn’t disrespectful to any of the groups of fans impacted.
Yet, it isn’t the first time Weverse has come under fire for its product quality. The “Butter” cassette tape that fans purchased were supposed to look bright and embody the theme. However, fans were surprised went the quality was completely different.
Did I receive the wrong tape? What is this? The tape is more white and the font is faded. Even the BTS logo looks faded and there isn’t even a hologram sticker. Is this fake? HYBE, did you send me a fake one?

Although the desire to recycle is commendable, it shouldn’t be done at the expense of the artists and their fans. The issue is more than just people paying for BTS merchandise, it’s the lack of respect for artists’ hard work.
