In the emotional letter, the doctor describes the dire conditions in Gaza, where essential supplies like food and water are scarce amidst ongoing conflicts. The doctor — alongside other parents risking their lives — speaks of the desperation and tragedy faced by the people of Gaza as they seek basic necessities amid constant bombardments.

“We came here after hearing about the arrival of flour trucks in the city. There’s no flour, food, or water in Gaza. We are under fire. Each time there are dead and wounded. The bombardments continue, but we can’t live without flour to feed our children.

We came here carrying our shrouds in our hands. We came to get flour, and we die. Tanks shoot at us. Where is the world? Where is the world? They bring us flour and shoot at us. What kind of life is this? What should we do with this flour? Why are they shooting at us when they brought flour?

I left three children at home. Three times I’ve been shot up. Either I come back with flour, or I don’t come back.”
