The “Most Annoying” Things K-Pop Fans Comment During Idol Lives, According To Fans Themselves

One viral tweet has since sparked a heated discussion across fandoms.

The chat feature, where fans can leave comments for their favorite idols to see, is one of the most adored features of K-Pop groups’ livestreams. Considered a form of communication, idols often read and even respond or interact with the comments. That said, some fans end up becoming obnoxious in hopes of attention.

One viral tweet about these obnoxious comments has since sparked a heated discussion across fandoms.

Top two things people comment to idols (during livestreams) that are not funny, make no sense, but still commented every single time:

1. “Show us your abs, plz.”
2. “It’s my birthday today.”
Adding 3: “I’m sleepy.” (Like… So what? Go to bed, then.)

  • “When people urge the idols to stop livestreaming and go to bed… Like, WTF? Leave them alone. You’re the ones who should go to bed.”
  • “The birthday thing, for sure. Haha. What a waste of everyone’s time.”
  • “Mentioning other idols who have nothing to do with the livestream…”
  • “When they’re like, ‘Are you drunk?’ What do you think?”
  • “Looking for other members like ‘Where’s [another member’s name]?'”
  • “All of these are so annoying. These people are such losers, like… They have no regard for what the other person is saying or thinking. They’re busy talking about themselves.”
  • “Oh, I hate the ‘look behind you’ comments.”

  • “The sleepyheads who actually tell idols to go to bed, too. Once, my bias had to tell them like, ‘I’m not tired. If you’re tired, go to sleep and watch the recorded version tomorrow.'”
  • “I hate when the comments are like, ‘Aren’t you going to sleep?’ And when they mention other members, too. Oh, and the ‘English please.'”
  • “Why do people announce that they’re sleepy?”
  • “Looking for other members… Or saying they’re watching other idols livestream. It’s so rude, I hate it.”
  • “It’s the worst when all of the comments are looking for another member.”
  • “You know what I hate? When the idol gets a little excited and the comments are like, ‘Are you drunk???'”
  • “I thought the ‘look behind you’ would make it on the list.”

Fan comments have long been discussed as more idols have become open about them. Read more about the time BTS‘s RM reacted to the comments on his Weverse live.
