Yang Min Suk, YG Entertainment‘s CEO, has been in the center of attention for his involvement in Seungri‘s Scandal and for his tax evasion investigations.
After an emergency meeting to vote on whether to replace Yang Hyun Suk and Yang Min Suk from the leadership positions of YG Entertainment, the shareholders determined that Yang Min Suk was fit to remain the CEO of the company and it only took 15 minutes to decide.
YG Entertainment Shareholders Vote To Keep Yang Min Suk As CEO
Most people may already know that Yang Min Suk is Yang Hyun Suk’s younger brother who has been working closely with Yang Hyun Suk since the beginning of YG Entertainment.
Yang Min Suk was born in 1973 and is currently 46 years old.
He has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Myongji University and a master’s degree in management from Yonsei University.
He is said to be the very person who helped YG Entertainment become one of the so-called “top 3 entertainment agencies”. Yang Min Suk established the company “Yang-gun Planning” in 1996, which later became YG Entertainment in 2001.
He has been supervising the business and marketing of YG Entertainment and is also a key figure in the growth of BIGBANG into a global Hallyu star.
In 2015, he was selected as a leading CEO of South Korea. He was also a member of the Culture and Prosperity Committee, a cultural advisory organization during the Park Geun Hye Administration. He was even a member of the delegation as a representative of the entertainment industry when Park Geun Hye visited China in 2013.
Meanwhile, Yang Min Suk is currently being investigated by the National Tax Service for suspicions of tax evasion and relations to the Seungri Scandal.
