They did NOT expect this to happen.

A post titled “This Yedam guy is so cute!” was published on Daum Cafe, a Korean forum, on June 24. It was seemingly posted by a fan of the group.

The post featured a video of ONE PACT’s Yedam showing off both his aegyo and dance skills.

However, upon clicking the link to the video that was posted, it was exposed that the reel had been shared by One Pact’s official Instagram account. This meant that the staff were the ones who actually created the post.

After the situation broke out, many of the comments actually found the promotion attempt to be wholesome. However, it quickly gained traction online and trended on another Korean forum known as theqoo.

  • “Everyone’s doing it, why make a big deal out of it?”
  • “Isn’t Yedam cute? The employees at small companies are working hard. It’s not an illegal route, so I hope they succeed and share the theqoo story as an episode later.”
  • “Who doesn’t do viral marketing? Even theqoo is full of it.”
  • “Wow, it’s such a wholesome viral marketing effort, it’s endearing.”
  • “Did they even do the tap challenge for us? I find it really likable.”
