YG Entertainment Reportedly “Gave Up” On 2NE1 After Failing To Control One Of The Members
2NE1‘s 2016 disbandment created a wave of shock throughout the world, as the 4 member girl group’s K-Pop reign came to an abrupt halt. While many rumors began to make headlines about the truth, all the questions were left answered, leaving all of their fans in sheer confusion.
And while their disbandment happened over 5 years ago, the issue has started to regain momentum due to a recent interview done by former 2NE1 member, CL. Just a few days ago, CL sat down for an interview with AP Entertainment, which is where she revealed to the viewers that she had found out about the group’s disbandment through the media.
This news took over the nation, as netizens began to wonder what led to 2NE1’s sudden breakup, especially since the former members also learned about the disbandment through media sites. As questions continue to rise in the midst of such confusion, reporter Lee Jin Ho uploaded a video that shed some potential light behind the group’s abrupt end.
In his most recent video on 연예 뒤통령이진호, the reporter tackled the difficult topic of 2NE1’s disbandment and shared what he claims to be insider intel that may answer some lingering questions.
According to Lee Jin Ho, 2NE1 had plans to continue their girl group ventures as 3 members following the departure of former member Minzy. He claimed that the three remaining members CL, Sandara Park, and Park Bom had prepared their new album when the sudden news of their disbandment took over the headlines.
YG Entertainment confirmed that the 3 member 2NE1 was in preparation for a new album. However, it didn’t go smoothly.

The reporter continued to share his alleged insider intel, which included YG Entertainment‘s difficulty maintaining and “controlling” one specific member.
According to insiders, YG Entertainment had a difficult time controlling one member. The comeback track was ready to go and the recording for it was completed at the time. However, this one member apparently had a hard time making up her mind. This member had written a handwritten note for Yang Hyun Suk that revealed her intent to focus on her promotions, but she was unable to keep her promise.

It was following his introduction that the reporter alleged the real reason behind 2NE1’s sudden disbandment, which he claims was a result of Yang Hyun Suk‘s “harsh reality check.”
And honestly, 2NE1’s comeback was a matter of Yang Hyun Suk’s pride as well. CEO Yang had to prove that 2NE1 was still current after Minzy departed and he wanted to show that. However, following the departure of one member, he got a harsh reality check.
Ultimately, YG Entertainment gave up on 2NE1.

The reporter then claimed that following the disbandment, BLACKPINK‘s debut was pushed earlier than planned—which may have contributed to the overall situation.
Coincidentally, a group that was intending to debut in YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK, was able to debut even faster. At the time, people began to wonder if 2NE1’s comeback track was included in BLACKPINK’s debut album.

Lee Jin Ho then alluded that all of the above factors added into the overall “unavoidable reality” that was 2NE1’s disbandment. The reporter also addressed the “one-sided” announcement that was given by the agency, which proved that the remaining members did not know about it in advance.
Because of all of these factors, 2NE1’s disbandment became an unavoidable reality. However, YG Entertainment’s disbandment announcement was one-sided.
Even the leader CL didn’t know about the disbandment, which shows that the members were not included in the decision making and their opinions were not considered.
