YG Entertainment Announces TREASURE’s Reorganization, Fans Left With Bittersweet Feelings
TREASURE will undergo some changes in its group structure next year.
On December 2, YG Entertainment shared a video featuring Yang Hyun Suk titled “TREASURE NEWS And YG 2025 PLAN.” In the video, Yang discussed the plans and future activities of the idols under the label, including TREASURE, who were specifically featured in the title.
Yang was first asked about new music from TREASURE, saying that the group would show a different concept than previous releases.
He then mentioned that there would be a dynamic change in the group’s current leadership structure.
Currently, Jihoon and Hyunsuk are the group’s leaders and have since their debut after a pre-debut system showed high success.
Yang states that there was a suggestion for the group to begin changing leaders every two to three years and that beginning on January 1, Kim Junkyu and Asahi will be the group’s new leaders.
Many fans welcomed the news with open arms, thanking the two current leaders for their hard work while anticipating the group’s upcoming activities.
Others, while still supportive, admitted that the change felt bittersweet.
