Actor Yoo Ah In, who is currently on trial for drug use, has also been reportedly booked on charges of same-sex sexual assault.
On July 26, the Yongsan Police Station booked Yoo on charges of sexually assaulting a man in his 30s. Under Korean law, same-sex sexual assault is considered imitative rape.
Yoo is being accused of sexually assaulting Mr. A, who was sleeping in his home in Yongsan on July 14. Although the police received the report from Mr. A, they have not notified Yoo yet. They are planning to summon Yoo for questioning soon.
On the day of the incident, Mr. A claimed he was sleeping in his home from 6 AM to 4 PM and realized he had been sexually assaulted when he woke up.
It was also reported that the home was not the residence of Yoo or Mr. A but a third party. Other men were also at the scene at the time of the incident.
On the other hand, prosecutors have called for a four-year prison sentence and a 2 million won fine for actor Yoo Ah In, who is under trial for alleged habitual drug use.
