Yoo Jae Suk Unexpectedly Writes A Big Check For A TV Personality Who Was Bombarded With Malicious Comments
TV personality Sayuri recently shared an anecdote that revealed what kind of person Korea’s top comedian and emcee Yoo Jae Suk is—he’s legendary.
On MBC‘s Radio Star broadcast on July 26, Sayuri shared a heartwarming story about Yoo Jae Suk. She recounted a moment when her son was around four months old.
I was at the park with Lee Ji Hye, and Yoo Jae Suk passed by riding a bicycle. So, I introduced my son to him.

Sayuri revealed that when she encountered Yoo Jae Suk, she was going through a difficult period due to receiving many malicious comments telling her to stop appearing on TV. She was discouraged, but the day after meeting Yoo Jae Suk at the park, she received an envelope that moved her.
The day after I met Yoo Jae Suk, I got a handwritten from him through Lee Ji Hye. In the envelope was a message that said, ‘I’m always rooting for you,’ along with a check, but it was such a large amount of money that I was shocked.

However, she expressed that more than the money, Yoo Jae Suk’s heartfelt gesture touched her. Since then, she has called him “Yoo-neunim” (a respectful term for an elder brother) whenever she sees him on TV.
This wasn’t the first time Sayuri received cash and encouragement from fellow celebrities. During the Radio Star episode, Sayuri also expressed gratitude towards comedian and radio host Park Myung Soo. She mentioned an instance when she appeared as a guest on his radio show, and after the broadcast, he gave her an envelope containing ₩1.00 million KRW (about $786 USD) in cash. Sayuri pointed out that she would have mentioned it and thanked him on the show if he had given it to her before the broadcast, but he gave it to her afterward, which impressed her even more.
Both instances show how Park Myung Soo and Yoo Jae Suk are generous and warm-hearted to those around them. It’s no wonder they are known as the top TV personalities in Korea.
