Yoona and Minho appointed as ambassadors for UNICEF Korea’s UNIHERO campaign
Girls’ Generation’s Yoona and SHINee’s Minho have been appointed has ambassadors for UNICEF Korea’s upcoming holiday season campaign, UNIHERO Campaign, on December 5th.
Yoona and Minho’s bright and refreshing images have charmed UNICEF Korea and the twowere selected as the ambassadors of UNIHERO Campaign. The duo will be the ambassadors starring in the campaign’s video and spreading awareness of UNICEF.
The name of the campaign indicates that anyone can be a hero by participating to help and protect children in poverty from all around the world. UNICEF Korea has transformed the charity event into a interactive campaign open to everyone both online and offline. Participating heroes can help the children in areas of their selection, including education, drinking water, nutrition, hygiene, and more. After the selection, UNIHERO Campaign will proceed on to making a interactive story.
UNICEF Korea’s secretary general, Oh Jong Nam, mentioned, “Napoleon and Genghis Kahn are not the only heroes of the world. We can all become one too by delivering hopes and protecting lives of the children needing help in the world. I sincerely hope that by starting with Yoona and Minho, more people will participate to become heroes protecting lives and happiness of many children in the world.”
Yoona said, “I am glad that I have been chosen as an ambassador for a charity event helping and giving hope to children all around the world. I will try my best so that more people can participate in the UNIHERO Campaign.”
Following Yoona, Minho also commented, “I will try my best to become a kind hero who delivers hope to the children in the world. I hope many more people become a ‘UNIHERO’ with their love and support for these children.”
Meanwhile, COEX Mall Live Plaza is planning to set up an experience booth section, which will be held from December 12th to 28th, for anyone interested in becoming a UNIHERO for the campaign.
