“Youth of May” Actress Go Min Si Shows Support For Korean Protesters

Youth of May actress Go Min Si, who took on the role of nurse Kim Myung Hee, has since shown public support. Youth of May is set in 1980 Gwangju, where military dictator Chun Doo Hwan massacred an estimated 600 to 2,300 Koreans after implementing martial law.

The actress has taken to Instagram, posting a Stories update that read, “3 PM.”

The candle emoji was an obvious clue linking the update to the national protest happening at 3 PM in front of the South Korean National Assembly.

As one of the first handful of Korean celebrities to publicly express their stance on the situation, Go Min Si’s update is receiving tremendous praise.

Actors, like Moon So Ri and directors, like Bong Joon Ho, have reportedly signed the statement calling for the suspension and dismissal of President Yoon Suk Yeol from office.
