Malicious YouTuber Sojang Denies Charges Of Slander In Court

She allegedly did not mean to slander anyone.

Malicious YouTuber Sojang recently had a court trial on May 27, 2024. She was previously indicted on charges of slander and defamation, thanks to her multiple videos on YouTube. Her YouTube channel focused on spreading malicious content against celebrities. Many celebrities including IVE’s Wonyoung, aespa, and Kang Daniel have fallen prey to her.

The trial she attended on May 27 was regarding her defamation of Kang Daniel. This was also the first time that her photos were captured by the Korean media.

On June 15, 2022, Sojang had uploaded a video titled “The dirty private life of national boyfriend actors and idols.” Although she admitted to having created and posted the video, she had claimed that she did not know the content of her videos were false. She claimed that it was not slander, as she believed them to be true. Accompanied by her lawyer, her lawyer defended her, claiming that Sojang did not mean to slander anyone and that in order to charge her, the prosecutors would have to find proof that the claims in the video were false.

Previously, the court had seized her assets prior to the trial. It was reported that she earned around ₩250 million KRW (about $183,000 USD) through her YouTube channel. She had allegedly invested it into real estate. You can read more about it below.
