ZEROBASEONE’s Gyuvin Slammed For Speaking Over fromis_9 During “Music Core”

ZEROBASEONE‘s Kim Gyuvin was the MC on Music Core on August 24, 2024. It seems like he was particularly nervous that day, for the rookie made the mistake of speaking over the winners during their speech. Usually, MCs present the award to the announced winner, letting the winning team say their thanks before the closing. In his nervousness, Gyuvin accidentally recited his closing sentence before fromis_9 could give their speech.

Thanks to some light direction from Sullyoon, Gyuvin managed to correct himself.

  • Gyuvin: “Yes, congratulations to fromis_9 once more for winning first place this week. Chani sunbaenim, thank you for MC-ing with us this week.”

  • Gyuvin: “Oh, please give your speech.”

Netizens were not as kind to the star. They questioned his mistake, given that this is his third week as an MC.

When he was [a one-off] special MC previously, he also did the same and asked them to give their speech after. Park Gun Wook also did the same. I feel like he has to register that this is the line that goes after the 1st place speech. He also probably participated in MC readings for a couple of weeks now, and had the chance to look at the cue cards from time to time. All that and I can’t believe that this is his attitude after causing a huge problem.

After the broadcast, Gyuvin briefly mentioned the issue on Dear U. Bubble, simply by saying that “he made a mistake.”

Other netizens pointed out the hypocrisy, claiming that if a female idol had done the same, they would have been sent a hate train.

LOL, if a girl made this mistake, the boy-crazy people would rush over and beat the sh*t out of them. Can’t believe that people are f*cking making a fuss just because he was briefly criticized. It’s just so hilarious how Sullyoon was coaching him from the side, but he couldn’t get it and just ended up fumbling…
