On September 18, BTS‘s RM took to Weverse to catch up with ARMYs, and one interaction went viral on X (formerly Twitter). An ARMY named Julie had shared a heartfelt letter to their bias, but it was addressed to Matthew rather than RM, confusing the BTS member, who asked, “Who’s Matthew?”

This unexpected interaction quickly circulated on X (formerly Twitter), going viral among ARMYs. Over 10K related tweets have been shared at the time of writing.

The interaction sparked many hilarious memes. Some even visualized the incident happening.

Nonetheless, it also raised the question that RM wanted an answer to from the start: Who is Matthew?

There was one fandom that had a clue. ZEROBASEONE fans recognized the name, as Seok Matthew is a member of the group.

 

The original poster, Julie, also addressed the matter via X. Julie revealed that they have different messages saved in their notes app for different idols. While panicking over RM’s sudden Weverse activity, they accidentally copied and pasted the wrong one. Julie also confirmed that Matthew is, for a fact, ZEROBASEONE’s Seok Matthew!

ZEROSEs have been hoping Matthew himself would also join the conversation, considering how viral this has become.

Now, he has!

Julie revealed in a recent tweet that they informed Matthew via Plus Chat about his virality. He responded, telling Julie that they should be an official promoter! Matthew added, “Love you,” expressing his gratitude.

Hopefully, Julie gets that promotion or at least barricade for a ZB1 concert!
