Zhao Lusi Heartbreakingly Unable To Act For The Foreseeable Future, Despite Her Recovery

In December 2024, a friend of Chinese actress Zhao Lusi shared a bombshell post accusing her company of physical and mental abuse after the actress’ health took a sudden decline. Previously, the actress had been spotted appearing very weak and being pushed in a wheelchair.

The actress was diagnosed with Dissociative Conversion Disorder, a condition where mental health conditions can disrupt the integration of consciousness, memory, and body movements. Thankfully, Zhao Lusi has shared her progress in recovery and recently made her first public appearance after the allegations.
Unfortunately, a return to the screen seems to out of reach for the actress at the moment.
On March 27, Zhao Lusi’s reality program Be Myself aired its first episode. The series is a travel program featuring the actress taking a healing trip, and offers a candid look at her continued health.

During the initial premiere, the actress was joined by child actor Fu Bohan who accompanied her during the episodes.

At one point, he asked about her condition after taking her medication, and Zhao Lusi revealed that she was “alright” after taking it but that it had the side effect of making it hard for her to remember things. Because of her inability to retain memories, she is unable to appear in any dramas as she would not be able to memorize a script.
Zhao Lusi: If you [third person] take medicine, then you wouldn’t feel any pain, but you can’t retain your memory.
Fu Bohan: So you really can’t film any dramas now since you can’t remember your script dialogue.
Zhao Lusi: Yeah, I’m unable to retain memory.
Fu Bohan: Then don’t film dramas. Rest well for a while.
As Zhao Lusi continues her recovery, we are happy to see her gaining her strength and becoming healthier and her fans are sure to wait as long as needed for her return to dramas.
