Clinic’s Scam Results In A Teenage Boy Getting Breast Implants
A beauty clinic in China has found itself in hot water after an illegal procedure.
The mother of a 19-year-old boy with the last name Lu shared that her son was tricked into getting breast implants in July at the suggestions of a beauty clinic’s staff.
The woman, from Wuhan in the Hubei province of China, initially went to the clinic for employment. Chats between the boy and the staff allegedly confirmed this, with the clinic’s job promising full board and a monthly stipend of around 400 USD.
Once there, the boy, who has a mental disability that makes his mental age around five, was told that he could make money through live streaming once he got the implants.
The clinic also convinced the 19-year-old to finance the operation, resulting in him taking out an initial loan of 30,000 yuan (around 4,202 USD) and another 7,000 (around 980 USD) yuan later, despite his concerns. According to Lu, the surgery “made his chest a B-cup, with two long scars underneath.”
It took numerous negotiations to get the breast implants removed, which Lu says has re-traumatized her son.
While speaking on the case, a lawyer from Hubei Today Law Firm, stated that “if the person has no capacity for civil conduct, a guardian, the parents in this case, must sign for such procedures,” which would make this not only a scam but illegal as well.
