Recently, it was announced that 2NE1 would be reuniting for their fifteenth anniversary.
Yang Hyun Suk of YG Entertainment revealed that 2NE1 will hold a concert tour in Seoul in early October. Shows will then be held in Osaka and Tokyo at the end of November and December, with the possibility of adding more dates.

Since then, the internet has been abuzz about the return of the legendary group, though some have been skeptical that it will occur under YGE.
2NE1’s Reunion With YG Entertainment Sparks Skepticism In Fans
Amid this announcement, netizens have begun discussing 2NE1 and other YG Entertainment groups, particularly BLACKPINK. Some have claimed that the older girl group had “disliked” BLACKPINK and used a tweet made by CL as evidence.

The tweet was believed to be aimed at BLACKPINK‘s Jennie, who made her solo debut the same day.
Since then, many have believed that the group did not like BLACKPINK, related in part to Yang Hyun Suk calling BLACKPINK a “prettier version of 2NE1” and forcing the group to disband.

Many netizens have now come together to provide evidence that this assumption is not the reality.
Besides the mentioned tweet by CL being disproven, fans have pointed out occasions that 2NE1 showed support for BLACKPINK.

These instances include times when 2NE1 members showed support for BLACKPINK’s debut, or interacted with content of BLACKPINK. Park Bom, in particular, has been “caught” liking BLACKPINK photos from fan accounts.

Fans also brought up times 2NE1 spoke about BLACKPINK, including Dara’s excitement over seeing an ad featuring Lisa. CL’s Instagram story congratulating all the K-Pop acts at Coachella 2023, which included BLACKPINK, was also mentioned.
It seems while there are many who believe that 2NE1 “hate” BLACKPINK, there are just as many, or more, who focus on the evidence that says otherwise.
