The “56th Baeksang Arts Awards” Deserves Its Own Award For Best Social Distancing
The 56th Baeksang Arts Awards was held on June 5, 2020 to the excitement of thousands of local and international viewers.
Besides trending worldwide for the dramas, films, and their cast…
…there was one factor that stood out to everyone watching.
The set up of their chairs!
Because of COVID-19, the Baeksang Awards chose not to invite audience members.
Organizers went a step further and arranged the chairs of all attendees at least one meter apart.
Interaction between co-stars may have been limited, but it was a good example of the proper practice of social distancing.
Viewers had fun examining the set-up, some saying it looks like an examination hall.

South Korea re-imposed strict social distancing guidelines at the end of May following a spike in COVID-19 cases. Citizens were discouraged from visiting crowded areas and social gatherings.
