How A 61-Year-Old Japanese Influencer Met Her 29-Year-Old Husband
Age-gap couples have always caught the attention of those on the internet, seeming to mystify netizens with their unexpected love stories.
Earlier this year, netizens were surprised to hear the actor Shim Hyung Tak would join the list of K-Celebs with a huge age gap relationship when he announced he was marrying his 18 years younger non-celebrity girlfriend.
However, this and most celebrity age gaps have nothing on the one between this viral Instagram couple.
Kurata Ritsuko is a 61-year-old Japanese woman who is active on the media-sharing platform and has amassed over 33 thousand followers partially due to her youthful appearance.
The other draw to her account is her relationship, which she frequently posts about. She is married to a man who is only 29 years old, something she has no qualms about sharing on every post on her account.
How they met seemed to be fate pushing them together, at least in their opinion.
According to her blog, they first met after picking up his phone at a café in Tokyo. While this might have been a meet-cute for another couple, this interaction was just brief.
Kurata Ritsuko said that they had another chance meeting on a train, somehow ending up in the same cabin and seeing each other despite there being so many people. She calls it a miracle, saying that fate led them together when she was 59 and he was 27.
The rest was history!
The couple seem to have not run into any opposition from Kurata Ritsuko’s family, who has shared photos of her son and his family on vacation with her and her husband. Interestingly enough, her 36-year-old son also has a bit of an age gap with his spouse.
