Only 8 Groups That Debuted 12 Years Ago Haven’t Disbanded

With the K-Pop industry being as competitive as it is, many groups that debut each year disband or become inactive due to issues outside of their control and talent.

In 2012, over 20 different groups debuted, but only eight have not disbanded.

1. Dal Shabet

Dal Shabet debuted on January 3, 2011 with “Supa Dupa Diva.”

The group underwent a line-up change early on, and all members left the company by 2018. The six members reunited in September 2019 for a mini-concert. The group has not officially disbanded while the members pursue solo activities.

2. BBAHN

BBAHN debuted on February 11, 2011.

Originally a trio, only a single member still promotes using the name. BBAHN’s most recent tracks have been OST from K-Dramas and Webtoons.

3. BB Girls (previously known as Brave Girls)

BB Girls (previously known as Brave Girls) debuted in April 2011 with “Do You Know.”

The group underwent many line-up changes before their rise in popularity in 2021. The group released “Goodbye” before changing their name, with plans for a comeback this year.

4. Block B

Block B made their debut in April 2011 with “Freeze.”

The group’s last release, “Don’t Leave” was in 2018. Since then, the members have pursued solo endeavors and completed their military services. P.O is currently enlisted, and the group reunited to perform at a special military event.

5. Apink

Apink debuted on April 19, 2011 with “I Don’t Know.”

The group is currently made up of five members and made their most recent comeback in April of this year!

6. B1A4

B1A4 debuted on April 23, 2011, with “O.K.”

The group are now active as a trio and released “Adore You” before Sandeul’s mandatory military enlistment.

7. BF (previously known as BOYFRIEND)

BF (formerly known as Boyfriend) debuted on May 26, 2011 with “Boyfriend.”

The group were originally under Starship Entertainment, who announced they “disbanded” in 2019. The group reunited for their tenth anniversary in 2021 before releasing another album under the new name BF later that year. The group held their twelfth-anniversary fan meeting on May 26, 2023.

8. MYNAME

MYNAME debuted in October 2011 with ” Message.”

While the group completed military services, they entered a period of inactivity where each member pursued solo activities. They recently announced their upcoming eleventh-anniversary event in Japan, where they are most active.
