Actor Lee Sang Yi Ended Up In An Emergency Room Trying To Help Kim Go Eun
Kim Go Eun’s new movie, Love in the Big City, has garnered quite the attention worldwide, depicting a unique story of love and companionship between a straight woman and a gay man.
Actor Lee Sang Yi made a special appearance in the film, for which Kim recently thanked him publicly, promising to repay the favor. The two actors’ friendship has become a topic of public interest since then.
Lee and Kim have a history that goes way back since the two were classmates in college. Lee is an alumnus of the School of Drama at Korea National University of Arts, which is also Kim Go Eun’s alma mater. Both belonged to the 2010 class and have previously shared some interesting stories from their college days.
One incident has resurfaced recently: Lee Sang Yi seriously injured himself while trying to help Kim Go Eun in an emergency situation. The actress shared the anecdote on the popular variety show You Quiz on the Block.
The incident occurred in their final semester, during an improvisational acting class. Kim Go Eun recalled that she was feeling unwell during the session and ran out of the practice room into the hallway. But she collapsed near a pile of shoes just outside the room, and seeing this, Lee Sang Yi rushed to help her.
As Lee was running out of the room, he hurried tried to open the door and his big toe got caught in it, ripping out his toenail. The actor somehow managed to ignore his own pain and helped Kim Go Eun. Another classmate stepped in and carried her to the school clinic.
Lee Sang Yi, on the other hand, was much more severely injured and had to go to an emergency room to get treated.
According to Kim Go Eun, this incident cemented their friendship in college, and since then, both of them have cherished their loyalty to one another!
