Actress Kim Bo Yeon Had To Act Alongside Her Ex-Husband Of 8 Years—Here’s How It Went
Actress Kim Bo Yeon recently appeared as a guest on MBC’s Radio Star and opened up about starring beside her ex-husband Jeon No Min in the K-Drama Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce).
Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce) is a series, of course, about the three things it describes love, marriage, and divorce. It follows three women in their 30s, 40s, and 50s whose marriages have been shaken by unexpected events.
It is written by Im Sung Han, who famously specializes in writing Makjang Dramas (Over-the-top Dramas). The first season of the recent series currently holds the record for the highest viewership ratings ever achieved by a TV Chosun show!
In the series, Jeon No Min plays Park Hae Ryoon, the husband of Lee Si Eun (Jun Soo Kyung). Kim Bo Yeon plays Kim Dong Mi, the stepmother of Shin Yoo Shin (Lee Tae Gon), who is the husband of Sa Pi Young (Park Joo Mi). Outside of the K-Drama, Jeon No Min and Kim Bo Yeon were married in 2004 and divorced in 2012.
On Radio Star, Kim Bo Yeon shared that their meeting on the set of Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce) was their first in quite a long time (understandably). In fact, until that series, they hadn’t seen each other for about 10 years!
Since we were meeting again after we had divorced, it felt a bit strange. We weren’t strangers, and we didn’t have a senior-junior relationship either. However, I felt like if I didn’t do anything, the production staff would feel awkward around us, so I went up to him and asked how he had been doing and asked about his daughter.

(It is important to note that Jeon No Min’s daughter is from his first marriage, not from his marriage to Kim Bo Yeon.)
Although she had the courage to speak to him for the staff’s sake, it was somewhat difficult to act around him. She revealed that there is a scene in the upcoming second season where their characters meet, and she had to said that he and the other actress “look good together.” She confessed that she had difficulty looking at him when acting, so she tried to look past him instead.
It’s been 10 years and sometimes a married couple become strangers to each other. It’s okay not to make it too complicated.

The new season premieres tonight! We hope to enjoy all of her hard work and appreciate her honesty.
