Popular Actress Breaks Down In Tears Because She “Only Gets Ahjumma Roles”
One popular actress has remained so youthful throughout her career that she has managed to play students in three different decades.
Actress Park Shin Hye got her start in the 2003 drama Stairway To Heaven, playing the younger version of Choi Ji Woo‘s character.
In 2007, at age seventeen, she appeared in Prince Hours, the spin-off of the popular series Princess Hours, playing the daughter of a Prime Minister in another student role.
The 2011 drama Heartstrings saw her as a university student, seemingly moving on from the high school roles to ones closer to her actual age.
Ironically, one of the roles that gained her recognition was the 2013 SBS drama The Heirs where she returned to high school life. Then, at 23, Park Shin Hye played a struggling high school student who was the love interest of Lee Min Ho‘s character.
Her upcoming role, which has already raised some eyebrows following the release of preview photos, is Doctor Slump. Doctor Slump stars Park Shin Hye and Park Hyung Sik as two doctors who have fallen into slumps and quit their jobs.
The story begins while the pair are students, as shown in new photos. However, instead of casting younger versions of the actors, Park Shin Hye and Park Hyung Sik, aged 33 and 32 respectively, fulfill the roles themselves!
While some are a little confused by the pair deciding to don uniforms again, many are excited to see the actress return to the small screen for the first time since 2021. In 2022, the actress married actor Choi Tae Joon and gave birth to their first son.
In real life, the actress has also made a place for education, graduating from Chung Ang University in 2016 with a degree in Theater.
Park Shin Hye ability to play students in different decades is just a testament to her youthfulness and talent!
