Ladies’ Code Ashley Choi Reveals The Petty Reason Why Her Ex Blocked Her
In episode 35 of Dive Studios‘ GET REAL podcast, hosts KARD‘s BM, Ladies’ Code‘s Ashley Choi, and BTOB‘s Peniel along with guest Jamie Park talked about fake friends. The episode focused on the topic of clout chasing and they each shared their personal experiences of times when they felt used.
Ashley explained that after she and her ex-boyfriend broke up, they remained Instagram friends but didn’t talk. Until one day, he randomly starting talking to her again over the common interest of health and exercise. He even offered to send her some protein and supplements thus she thought he was just being nice.
After we broke up, we didn’t talk for a while…. but we were still Instagram friends. And then, one day, he like hit me up and he was like super nice to me ’cause he started working out. He’s like, ‘I’ll send you some like protein and like stuff that’s good for your body.’ And I was like, ‘Okay, thanks.’

Things suddenly got weird when he added Ashley on KaKaoTalk. He ended up calling her out of nowhere. She answered just to hear him say, “Yo. My friend is a huge fan. Can you say ‘hi’ to him?” She was shocked to be put on the spot like that! She attempted to decline, explaining that she had just woken up and wasn’t wearing makeup.
I just woke up and I was barefaced so I didn’t want to show him my bare face. I was like, ‘I don’t think I can right now. I look really bad.’ And then he was like, ‘Why?’ And I was like, ‘Because I just woke up! I look like crap.’ And he was like, ‘Okay, whatever. Okay, bye.’

He finally let her go and hung up. Later, he messaged her again, “I thought we were closer than that….I thought we had a good friendship.” He ultimately resorted to blocking her!
Peniel and BM called the guy out on his hypocrisy for not talking to Ashley for seven years until he needed her. BM also pointed out that the guy had low-key been trying to bribe her for the call.
He tried to bribe your call with some protein. No, there are some friends though, that you’d be down to– like ‘Day 1 homies,’ but, you know, there are the kind of people that you have to like, you know, distinguish away from those type of people.
