EXO's Baekhyun Opens Up About His Past Fear Of Performing And How He Regained His Confidence As An Idol

On a recent episode of tvN’s You Quiz on The Block, EXO‘s Baekhyun opened up about his hardships of debuting after only a short time of being a trainee.

Baekhyun confessed that due to the fact that he began his life as a trainee at 20 years old and debuted shortly afterward, he felt like he was under-prepared.

Because my debut came quickly, I wasn’t prepared in many ways. So there was a time when I had a fear of standing and performing on stage.

And he added that once he lost confidence in his primary skill, which was singing, he lost confidence in everything.

Once I lost confidence in my primary skill, which is singing, I couldn’t do anything with confidence anymore.

But Baekhyun didn’t let that stop him.

I practiced until late at night by myself, and I even did vocalization practice in the car.

And his fellow EXO members helped him every step of the way.

When I had a hard time, my fellow members would come and tell me to open up to them and resolve it together. They even tried to help me have fun by saying, ‘Let’s go out together.’
