Why BLACKPINK’s Jennie Ended Up “Scolding” A Fan During Their Concert
When it comes to K-Pop idols that are often misunderstood, BLACKPINK‘s Jennie is always one of those. Sometimes her sharp features have been described as cold and sometimes distant, with some even critiquing her for being “Lazy.” In reality, it couldn’t be further from the truth.
Jennie went viral after the hilarious reason for “scolding” fans during their BORN PINK show in Seoul.
BLACKPINK started the first leg of their world tour in Seoul. As expected, all of the members wowed netizens with their talent and visuals, and Jennie was no different. Not only did Jennie send the internet into meltdown when she performed an unreleased song for the first time…
But she also managed to send Jisoo into panic with her actions.
Yet, on the second day, she went viral for a completely different reason, and it was because of the reasons she “scolded” fans during the show.
Of course, fans love enjoying concerts, but many now attend with phones and cameras in hand to capture moments from the show. Yet, to capture amazing videos for other BLINKs, it is crucial to try and remain still while recording… to get the perfect shots.

During one of the songs, it seems like Jennie was having none of it. Making her way closer to the crowds, Jennie was jumping along with the rest of the members and having the best time possible.
Yet, at one point, Jennie seemingly noticed something in the crowd and walked up to the fan. The BLINK must’ve been so focused on filming that the idol called them out for not jumping along with the members and fans.
Of course, despite the need to get good footage, you can’t say no to Jennie, and the BLINK behind the camera suddenly started jumping along as the camera became unstable.
When the video was posted, netizens couldn’t get over how Jennie scolded the fan for not jumping and even joked that she and SEVENTEEN‘s Seungkwan have the same ideas.
As expected, the world of social media has meant that fans are often seen on their phones or cameras trying to capture moments from the show. So, Jennie also made netizens LOL with her comment about seeing fans with phones.
At the end of the show, when the members were doing their ending comments, Jennie gained attention for joking about how many phones and cameras she was seeing, adding, “It’s like having a concert with cell phones.”
In a world dominated by social media, it is sometimes easy to forget about living in the moment during big events. Jennie made sure that fans were having the best time and creating memories to last them a lifetime, not just through the phone.
