BLACKPINK’s Jennie Dishes On How They Handle Creative Differences, And It Says A Lot About Their Relationship
It’s nearly impossible to avoid creative differences when it comes to work, especially in K-Pop groups where there are several members. YG Entertainment girl group BLACKPINK is no stranger to it. However, according to Jennie, it isn’t a problem to them!
The “Shut Down” singer shared how they handle creative differences in an interview with SIRIUSXM where she also discussed their work-life balance, their go-to photoshoot album, and what they’ll miss the most while on tour.
According to the star, she and her members really take the time to share their opinions with each other. Some K-Pop groups may find it difficult to accept contrasting views, but BLACKPINK isn’t one of them! Everything just falls into place.
We spent a good enough time to kind of accept everyone’s opinion. It clicks really easy for us.

For example, they have different ideas for different aspects of their comeback. One member would share her opinion on the music video, while another would have a suggestion for the choreography. Rarely do they ever disagree on something.
Like somebody would have something to say about the video, and someone would add on with a visuals or help with the choreography, so everything just clicks in pretty easily for us these days.

Concluding, Jennie added that they’re “very synced,” especially now that they’re in a creative zone.
The group just made a long-awaited comeback with the album “BORN PINK,” so this may be what she was referring to. They are overflowing with ideas, and they don’t hesitate to discuss them with each other.
We’re very synced in at the moment. We’ve been in the creative zone for a while. It works as a group.
— Jennie
The way BLACKPINK doesn’t argue over differing opinions and freely shares their ideas shows just how close they are as a group. It’s also proof that they completely respect each other!
In the same interview, fellow BLACKPINK member Rosé opened up about her experience eating no meals before an event and how it helped her develop her pre-show ritual.
