BLACKPINK’s Lisa Spills On How She Deals With Negative Thoughts And The Life Motto She Currently Lives By
BLACKPINK‘s Lisa was recently interviewed by the fashion magazine W Korea and was featured in their August 2023 edition.
In her exclusive interview, the talented BLACKPINK maknae reflected on her incredible accomplishments, her fateful global ambassadorship with the luxury designer brand CELINE, and what she’s currently focused on in her life.
In the interview, Lisa identified BLACKPINK’s historic Coachella performances as a “life turning point” and one that was an eye-opener for her after she struggled to find joy in the repetitive cycles of K-Pop idol promotions.
Before Coachella, I pondered how to enjoy the cycle of comeback, song release, practice, and next comeback. Coachella broadened my horizon of thoughts, and I think I found a way to fully enjoy the stage. I’m sure other BLACKPINK members experienced that too.

While talking about her turning point, she also opened up about living up to her own standards and how she remains positive each day.
For Lisa, it’s all about remaining in a positive mindset and not engaging with negative thoughts or emotions.
I try not to feel trapped by negative thoughts or emotions. I also try to break negative thoughts, such as ‘Why do I feel so bad today?’ or ‘Things would have worked out better if I was in a better mood.’

If things don’t go well, she continues to encourage herself and goes back to her current life motto in difficult situations.
Even when things don’t go well, I just tell myself, ‘Well, bad things can happen’ or ‘I will do better next time.’ So, my life motto is ‘Let It Be,’ and I feel more comfortable by thinking this way.

When the interviewer noted that fans who watch her stages would easily feel Lisa’s positive energy, the BLACKPINK member shared that even on bad days, she puts her best foot forward for BLINKs (BLACKPINK fans).
Even when I feel bad, I consciously make myself feel better quickly. I don’t want others to feel uncomfortable because of my bad mood. If it happens, I’d feel so bad for them.
