BoA Tried Something She’d Never Done Before With GOT The Beat
SM Entertainment‘s project unit girl group, GOT the beat, recently released their official dance practice video for their song “Step Back.”
Like most K-Pop group dance practices, the video was a single take video in one of SM Entertainment’s dance practice rooms, with the members rehearsing their parts in comfortable clothing.
In the behind-the-scenes footage of the dance practice video, the members of GOT the beat are all seen goofing around with each other.
With Karina calling for her fellow aespa member Winter, her “stretching buddy.”
Wendy, teaching BoA a goofy vocal exercise she uses.
And Taeyeon making the other members laugh by demonstrating a mistake she made while practicing.
And in one of the clips from the video, BoA confesses to the other members that this is her first time recording a dance practice video.
BoA debuted in August of 2000 with the track “Eat You Up.”
Since then, she has gone on to have an immensely successful career. Solidifying herself as one of K-Pop’s legendary idols.
Both with her remarkable dance skills.
And incredible vocals.
But her fellow GOT the beat members were shocked that throughout the idol’s career she’d never filmed a dance practice video.
Karina even asked if a video BoA released through SMTOWN’s YouTube channel, a performance video she took at TAPAHA, a dance studio in Korea, wasn’t a dance practice video.
But BoA insisted that that video was just filmed as a hobby and “Step Back” was the first time she would have an official dance practice for the company.
Hyoyeon took the opportunity to tease BoA, jokingly asking her if she was nervous.
BoA gave a teasingly shocked reaction before playing along and teasingly admitting that “yes, [she was] actually so nervous.” Worried she might get some of the choreography wrong.
But of course, the legendary idol pulled off an exceptional performance for the dance practice video.
