Not long after the photos were released online, fans began to dissect the photos, searching for deeper meanings and theories.
Some searched for meaning behind the black hole in the photos.

The hole represents the abyss. "Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And If you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss also gazes into you.” – Nietzsche pic.twitter.com/S92vNzsc8N— omer meroz⁷ (@omermeroz) February 9, 2020
While others delved into the meaning behind the feathers and swans that the members could be representing.

Others are also dissecting the shadows that are being cast next to each member.
Okay, but have you noticed that Taehyung is the only one that doesn’t project a shadow? I mean his shadow is IN the shadow hole🤔 and he is the only one who has an actual tail 🦢 kinda looks like he’ll go through some changes 👀#FirstLookat7 #MAP_OF_THE_SOUL_7 #MapOfTheSoul7 pic.twitter.com/sBvhpR4rkB
