BTS’s Jimin Dodged Getting Recognized Once Again With A Hilarious Lie

He has done it at least twice before.🤣

Being one of the biggest musical acts in the world comes with its own set of disadvantages, which includes stars getting recognized in public places even when they are trying to have some downtime. But it looks like BTS member Jimin has mastered the art of dodging these situations like a pro.

Recently, a fan shared about a funny encounter between Jimin and a tteokbokki restaurant owner. The OP (original poster) noticed Jimin’s autograph on the window of a tteokbokki restaurant on their way home from work and stopped by to take a picture from outside. Curious about the BTS member’s visit, OP asked the staff about it. According to the staff member, Jimin came by with his friends at the restaurant some two or three weeks ago.

Though the staff couldn’t recognize him exactly as a BTS member, they asked Jimin if he was an actor, given his outstanding visuals. Instead of clarifying his identity, he jokingly answered that he is “something similar, but it’s not going that well.”

The OP also added that the restaurant staff kept emphasizing how pretty Jimin was in real life, making ARMYs curious to meet their idol too. But the hilarity of Jimin’s response also wasn’t lost on them.

Fans couldn’t help wondering how Jimin keeps getting away with his tricks, given that this is the third time he has done so, at least according to public knowledge. In an interview back in March, the singer confessed that when a fan recognized his voice while playing an online game with him, he lied, saying he didn’t even know who Jimin was.

During a livestream in 2022, Jimin shared another similar incident. When BTS were in Busan for their World Expo concert in October, a restaurant owner had recognized him as a celebrity but couldn’t pinpoint the specifics.  So, he went up to Jimin to confirm, and he denied it straight away. He even switched to his Busan satoori and pretended that he had no idea about any BTS Jimin’s existence. His act was so convincing that the owner ended up getting confused if Jimin’s hometown was Daejeon instead of Busan.

There is also a similar story about Jimin straight-up denying his identity while visiting a restaurant in Jeju in 2021. But after finishing his meal, he went up to the staff and apologized for lying, and thanked them for the service. Though the source of the anecdote is unconfirmed, given his track record, it doesn’t sound too out of character.
