BTS Gets Dragged Into Fandom Drama While Away In The Military

ARMYs quickly came to the members’ defense.

Six of BTS‘s seven members are currently serving in South Korea’s military, but, in some ways, it’s like they never left.

The members have been releasing solo projects while in the military. RM‘s Right Place, Wrong Person album, J-Hope‘s HOPE on the Street album, and V‘s song “FRI(END)S” — just to name a few. Though ARMYs are loving all the content, not everyone is happy about BTS’s new music.

Some netizens feel that BTS’s current chart-topping success is unfair, claiming that other groups are not being given a chance to shine while BTS is away.

As fans have pointed out, however, idols are allowed to release music during their military service, if that music was produced before they enlisted. ARMYs are coming to BTS’s defense, saying that the blame should be placed on agencies that did not prepare to-be-released music ahead of their idols’ military service.

Jimin will be the next BTS member to drop a new solo album. His second solo album, MUSE, will be released on July 19th.
