BTS’s RM Shares How Being Nominated For A GRAMMY Is Different From Topping The Billboard Hot 100
BTS made history when they became the first K-Pop act to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart with their song “Dynamite”.
The group made history again when their song “Life Goes On” topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making it their second song to achieve this honor.
Also, the group earned their first GRAMMY nomination as well, as it was recently announced that their song “Dynamite” is nominated for “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance” for the 2021 GRAMMYs.
During a recent interview with Dumbfoundead, RM spoke about how being nominated for a GRAMMY is a lot different from topping the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
It’s (being nominated for a GRAMMY) one of the hugest deals that we’ve ever had in our career. It feels really different from the Billboard Hot 100 cause it’s not some kind of number. It’s not something that can be expected.

RM concluded by talking about how humbled and honored they are with the nomination.
It’s the biggest honor to be nominated. It’s the GRAMMYs. It’s something that every musician dreams about. We know that it means more than just a nomination. It also gives us the first record of the first Korean pop artist to be recognized, and that in and of itself was an important movement. We are very proud and humbled at the same time.
