BTS’s RM Reveals His Thoughts On Being Chosen As “Special Presidential Envoys For Future Generations And Culture”
BTS recently made a guest appearance on SBS’s Eight O’Clock News and revealed their thoughts on being number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for eight consecutive weeks as well as being appointed as the special presidential envoy.
Leader RM stated that this all “felt like a dream” and that they had only “joked about doing a baton touch” with “Permission to Dance. He stated, “The best way to comfort and show sympathy was through music because we are singers, and that’s how songs like ‘Permission to Dance’ and ‘Dynamite’ was created.”
Recently, the group was appointed as the “Special Presidential Envoys for Future Generations and Culture” by South Korean President Moon Jae In. They will also be participating at the 76th General Assembly to share a message of hope to the youth around the world.
BTS has grown up with the current generation of young people. In the process, we wanted to express the emotions we felt right now. We have witnessed and experienced the impact of the global economic crisis or something social both directly and indirectly. During the crisis in 2021, although we are weak, if we have the power to do something, like the special cultural envoy or the U.N. General Assembly, we will do what we can for our country, with a heavy yet happy heart, for the young people who have grown up with us and the future generations around the world. As we head to the States, we will do our best to fulfill our mission and return home.

Last year, BTS gave a speech at the 75th UN General Assembly to spread hope to the world during the COVD-19 pandemic. Back in 2018, they attended the ceremony for the first time and received attention for their “LOVE MYSELF” speech.
