BTS’s RM Once Talked About The Time He Thought He Wouldn’t Debut
Being a K-Pop trainee is difficult, and lots of idols have admitted that they nearly gave up on their dreams when they were trainees. When BTS guested on Super Junior Shindong‘s Shimshimtapa, RM revealed that there was a moment when he thought he wouldn’t debut.
During the show, the members were asked if there was a moment during their trainee days where they “clenched their teeth”.
RM shared that there was a moment when he clenched his teeth due to Bang Si Hyuk, the head of Big Hit Entertainment (BTS’s agency). While Bang Si Hyuk and BTS are close like family, he showed a lot of tough love to the members when they were trainees. RM revealed that Bang Si Hyuk brought him to Big Hit Entertainment due to his rapping skills. However, there was a moment when Bang Si Hyuk told RM, “I think I brought you for no reason“.
RM shared that he clenched his teeth after he heard this from Bang Si Hyuk.
Shindong then asked RM if he had doubts about his debut after Bang Si Hyuk said this, and RM said that he did. However, RM used Bang Si Hyuk’s words as fuel to motivate himself to get better, and he was eventually able to debut as the leader of BTS!
