BTS Reveal What It Was Really Like For All Seven Members To Share One Room
On the first night of BTS‘s two-night takeover event on NBC‘s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, host Jimmy Fallon interviewed the members to talk about music, their collaboration with Ed Sheeran, and rumors within the fandom.
Following a question regarding their original fandom name, Jimmy asked if all seven remembers truly had to share one room in the past.
Is it true when you first started the band, the seven of you shared one room? What was that like?
— Jimmy Fallon
Suga confirmed that it was true that all seven of them had shared one bedroom in their early years. Until the end of 2016, they slept in the same room.
In one room, there were three bunk beds and one normal bed, and in between them, there was a space for just one person to walk through.

Having to be in such close proximities with one another, especially when they did not know each other as well as they do now, definitely meant there took some getting used to and probably a lot of learning and compromise involved. So, Jimmy then asked, “What did you learn from each other through that experience?”
Jin was quick to answer and teasingly replied, “These guys are really dirty and messy!”
We’re not too surprised, considering what their place looked like during American Hustle Life. But, in their defense, how does one keep such a small place tidy?
J-Hope took some offense to Jin’s statement and jokingly retorted, “Okay, I hate BTS!” This caused BTS and the audience to erupt in laughter. RM, however, was not ashamed and proudly declared, “Yeah, we are. What’s wrong about it?” Jin then added, “We were so busy back then.”
They’re still pretty busy, though! However, a more spacious place allows for easier cleaning and organization and more space from others. Therefore, we’re sure the members are now getting along better than ever before!
