Who’s Dating Who? “The Idol” Stars’ Real Life Romances
Since the show was first announced, HBO‘s The Idol, starring Lily Rose-Depp as an aspiring pop star Jocelyn, who suffers a career-changing nervous breakdown and is enchanted by cult leader Tedros (played by The Weeknd), has remained in the headlines for its controversial nature.
While the love lives of the characters on the show are undoubtedly drama-filled, the cast’s real-life romances also have some surprises.
Of the reoccurring cast, several do not have a public dating history, like Da’Vine Joy Randolph, who plays Jocelyn’s co-manager, Destiny. Others like Rachel Sennott (who plays Leia, Jocelyn’s best friend and assistant) have dated in the past but currently have not mentioned a significant other.
Troye Sivan plays Xander, Jocelyn’s creative director, and previously dated model Jacob Bixenman for four years before calling it quits. Last year in an interview, the star shared he did not have a boyfriend.
BLACKPINK‘s Jennie is not publicly dating anyone at the time. However, rumors of a relationship with BTS‘s V have circulated since last year, continuing after an alleged date video of the pair surfaced.

YG Entertainment and HYBE have responded to the allegations, stating because it involves the idols’ private lives, they “do not know.”
Regarding this, HYBE and YG Entertainment stated on the 18th that “We do not know due to it being regarding the artists’ private lives” and has not released an official statement.

Lily-Rose Depp previously dated actor Timothée Chalamet, but since January 2023, she has been in a relationship with the American rapper 070 Shake.
The Weeknd has dated plenty of famous women like model Bella Hadid and Selena Gomez, and most recently has been linked to DJ Simi Khadra, who attended The Idol‘s red carpet at the 76th Cannes Film Festival.
Of the younger members of the main cast, only one is married — Suzanna Son, who plays Chloe, a follower of Tedros, tied the knot with her wife, Ana Bedayo, just a few months ago.
The show was recently criticised for its poor writing, which you can read more about below.
