“Young Taecyeon” From The “Dream High” K-Drama Is Unrecognizable 11 Years Later
Longtime K-Drama fans have watched child actors grow up before their eyes — sometimes without even realizing it!
This might be the case for Kang Yi Seok, the 24-year-old actor who started acting when he was just 8 years old.
He made his K-Drama debut in 2006, playing roles in Mr. Goodbye, Lovers, and Queen of the Game. Kang Yi Seok went on to act in 12 more K-Dramas before landing the role of young Jin Guk in the 2011 series Dream High. His older counterpart, Jin Guk, was played by 2PM‘s Taecyeon, who was 23 years old at the time: a year younger than Kang Yi Seok is now.
Unsurprisingly, Kang Yi Seok looks much different today than he did in Dream High. He doesn’t resemble his older fictional much either, but Taecyeon and Kang Yi Seok are both visuals in their own right!
Fast forward to 2022. Kang Yi Seok now has well over 30 K-Drama, films, and web series on his resume!
After completing his military service in 2020, Kang Yi Seok joined the cast of the 2022 K-Drama Our Blues as young Bang Ho Sik. The older version of Bang Ho Sik, an ice maker on Jeju Island, is played by veteran actor Choi Young Joon.
In addition to acting, this talented and handsome star competed in Season 8 of I Can Hear Your Voice. Watch his performance here:
