MAMAMOO’s Solar is beautiful with a timeless look and an incredible body thanks to her hard work and dedication to fitness!
So, it’s no surprise that she is regularly asked about her beauty routine, including what her favorite lipsticks are!
Solar admits to being a little nervous as it’s her first time making this kind of recommendation and she’s not an expert on the topic. She also shares that she wears a lot of different lipsticks for stage performances to portray different looks.
Because of her occupation, she is able to try on many different brands and colors of lipsticks to find what is most suitable for her.
She also has quite a wide array of colors in her collection!
Though her makeup style has changed over the years, she does manage to swap things out every-so-often.
In a surprise confession, Solar reveals that she doesn’t use just one color… She actually layers colors when she applies lipstick!
She starts with a base color before mixing in the color she really wants, so in total, she uses about two or three colors on her lips!
She feels the color combinations end up creating the perfect color!
In this case, she starts by showing off 3CE multi pot HOLLY HOCK, a pinkish-orange tint.
Followed up by a darker red (3CE multi pot CABBAGE ROSE), which she explained is used for more dramatic looks.
Meanwhile, lighter reds, like 3CE multi pot SCARLET RED, are used for a more daily look.
This shade (3CE multi pot PRIMULA) is much darker than the previous one. Solar notes it’s so dark that it’s close to violet.
3CE multi pot MORNING SKINNY has an orange tint to it, which Solar shared she only uses in certain situations as she doesn’t “wear orange colors casually.”
As for a gloss? She uses 3CE lip gloss GLASS GLOSS. Solar says she uses this gloss to make her lips appear thicker or more sparkly.
This nude Charlotte Tilbury lipstick is one of Solar’s favorites.
She layers the Charlotte Tilbury color with MAC Powder Kiss Devoted to Chili.
The next color combination she recommends is 3CE multi pot HOLLY HOCK and Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet #19 Jolle-de-vin.
Solar’s next recommended color combination is B. By Banila Lipdraw Matte Blast Stick Hip-Gal and B. By Banila Lipdraw Matte Blast Stick Grrr.
While Solar reaffirmed that she doesn’t normally wear orange shades, when she does, these are the ones she really likes. Her two favorites are by INGA, and she shares that the grapefruit-toned one is good for days you don’t want to wear too much orange.
After briefly bragging about a wonderful YSL lipstick she received from a fan in Japan, she continued on to recommend a Revlon Ultra HD Matte lipstick, although the exact shade is unknown as she covered the serial number, she does say it has a tint of purple to it!
Next, Solar shows us her Espoir Lipstick PK003 VIVA 70, which she notes is an excellent color to use during the Spring.
If you’re looking for more of a daily wear lipstick, then she recommends MAC Satin Mocha.
Continuing on with lippies from MAC, she also recommends MAC Retro Matte Ruby Woo.
It’s pretty when it’s applied just on the inner lip but I also wear it a lot when I want a full red lip.

If Ruby Woo is a little too bold for you, then Mac Retro Matte Relentlessly Red might be a better fit as it has a slight pink tint to it.
Moving on, Solar also quite likes Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Bond Girl, which is a nice brown hue.
When the lipstick is extremely matte, your lips tend to get chapped and really dirty. This one is not like that.
