A Fansite Photo Goes Viral As Netizens Debate The K-Pop Idol’s Identity
Recently, the identity of a K-Pop idol captured in a photo by a fansite caused quite a stir as netizens hilariously came to three different conclusions about who the idol might be between gorgeous girl group members aespa‘s Winter, LE SSERAFIM‘s Chaewon, and Girls’ Generation‘s Tiffany.
The photo was posted on Twitter on September 10 and earned over 700 likes and 43,000 views before being reposted to the popular Korean online community board TheQoo.
From there, it gained an additional 42,000 views within a few hours and over 500 comments as netizens either confidently and correctly named the idol or revealed their struggle to identify the talented star.
In the photo, the idol is wearing a mask and has a trendy, blunt fringe, a hairstyle that Winter, Chaewon, and Tiffany have all flawlessly rocked.
The photo in question features Girls’ Generation’s talented member Tiffany, but even longtime fans of the legendary group admitted they could see how other netizens were confused.
Some hilariously admitted they knew the photo was of Tiffany but were still amazed when they saw a slight resemblance to Winter and Chaewon.
- “I scrolled through this thinking, ‘This is a picture of Winter resembling Tiffany.'”
- “I got confused because I absolutely knew it was Tiffany, but everyone else was saying otherwise. I was right!”
- “What do you mean?! I was so sure that it was Winter.”
- “I’m Tiffany’s fan, so I knew right away. But I do see the resemblance, especially around the eyes. It’s not that tricky, though. This is most certainly Tiffany.”

Others were shocked when they realized the idol was Tiffany, as they could have sworn it was aespa’s Winter.
- “Wth? I could’ve sworn that was Winter.”
- “No way, I thought it was Winter for sure.”
- “I scrolled down thinking, ‘How are people seeing Tiffany? This is 100% Winter.’ LMAO.”
- “WTH? I realized it was Tiffany only after seeing 1989.”
- “Huh…? I don’t see Winter at all… I mean, I think there’s a little bit of Kim Chaewon, as Comment #408 said. But even then, it’s 90% Tiffany with 10% Kim Chaewon.”
